A MOD file is a music module file saved in the standard music module format, originating from the Amiga module format. It contains note patterns (similar to a .MIDI file) and sound samples representing different instruments played back according to the notes. MOD files are typically used for background music in video games and the "demoscene" computer art subculture.

Karsten Obarski initially developed the Amiga module format and released it with the Ultimate Soundtracker software for the Commodore Amiga system in 1987. As music trackers began supporting the format, especially on PCs in the 1990s, other developers released variations of the MOD format.
Initially, the MOD format only supported four audio channels and sixteen instruments. However, recent MOD variations have increased the number of supported channels to 32 and supported instruments to 31.
The sound samples within a module are assigned to different tracks and are played back according to the notes in the score. A MOD module also includes a list that tells the application playing the module the order the patterns are to be played.
NOTA: MOD files may be created by various MOD trackers, including FastTracker, StarTrekker, Noise Tracker, MilkyTracker, and Cog.

Go.mod is a file that tracks a Go module's dependencies. It contains plain text that specifies a module's name, Go version requirements, and contingent modules. Each Go module is linked to a corresponding go.mod file.

Modules are Go's primary building blocks. Each Go module contains one or more functions that can be called by other modules. To ensure that each module's required Go versions and code dependencies are tracked accurately, Go produces a go.mod file for each module. Each module's go.mod lists:
- The module's name, after the module directive
- The module's required version(s) of Go
- The modules that the module is dependent upon
More complex modules may include additional information in their go.mod files. For example, developers can use the exclude command to prevent their module from using a certain version of a contingent module, or they can use the replace command to load a different version of a contingent module. Developers can also include comments by prefacing the comments with //.

V is a statically-typed compiled programming language developed by Alex Medvednikov. It is similar to Google's Go programming language. V allows developers to group functions together into a module and modules together into a package. This allows developers to quickly install, update, and otherwise manage all the functions a package contains.
Each V package is a directory that contains one or more modules and a v.mod file. When a developer uses the v new command to create a new V package, V asks the developer for some basic information about that package. It then saves that information in the v.mod file.

It is a simplified version of a .PLN file, containing only visible layers, embedded objects, and references used by included elements (PLN files store more information and are larger). Archicad users can save elements they want to reuse as a module, then insert the module into other projects.

Archicad is a building information modeling (BIM) application for designing and visualizing interiors, exteriors, landscapes, and whole structures. The software provides many helpful design tools, including modules that function as master templates you can "hotlink" or embed in projects.
Hotlinked modules are beneficial when you want to replicate elements many times in different projects. You can add a module to a project as a hotlink module, and if you have any changes you want to make to the module, you only have to modify the original "source" module in the MOD file (and Archicad will make the changes to the hotlinked modules).
For example, if you want to add many rooms or stories of the same design to a hotel, you can create one room or story design, save it as a MOD file, insert it into your hotel design, and replicate it. Then, if you have to make any changes to the room or story design, you only need to modify the original room or story design MOD file instead of all the replicated rooms or stories.
You may also merge a module in a MOD file into a project instead of adding it as a hotlinked module. This is helpful when you want to reuse a module in a project but do not need to replicate it in a design. However, once you merge the module, it will no longer be connected to the MOD file.
