What is an AFPACKAGE file?

An AFPACKAGE file contains a Serif Affinity document, such as an .AFPUB, .AFDESIGN, or .AFPHOTO file, packaged with its resources (fonts, linked images, etc.). Since Serif Affinity documents store references to their resources separately, Affinity Publisher, Designer, and Photo users create AFPACKAGE files to store the documents and their resources in one AFPACKAGE file when transferring them to different computers or for printing purposes.

How to save an Affinity document as a package

Affinity document files often contain links to images and other assets in a project. To preserve links and images in the document, you can save the project as an AFPACKAGE file. To save a document as a package, select File → Save As Package... from the Affinity application menu bar. When saving the file, you can also choose the fonts and images included in the package.

How to open an AFPACKAGE file

You can open an AFPACKAGE file with Serif Affinity Publisher, Serif Affinity Designer, and Serif Affinity Photo in Windows and macOS. To open an AFPACKAGE file, select File → Open from the program's menu bar.
