What is a ZPI file?

A ZPI file is a plug-in used by DivX Connected, a server-based media player. It contains additional features, content, or services that extend DivX Connected's capabilities. ZPI files must be installed on the computer on which you've installed DivX Connected Server.

More Information

DivX Connected is a media and network management system that allows users to connect their home's A/V equipment, including televisions and home audio systems, to one or more servers, which are referred to as DivX Connected Servers. Users can then play server-stored media on connected devices, allowing them to watch or listen to digital media on their televisions or home audio systems.

Users typically install the DivX Connected Server application on one or more PCs. If a user wants to extend DivX Connected's capabilities, they can do so by installing DivX Connected plug-ins on a PC that has DivX Connected Server installed. Plug-ins are often stored in ZPI files.

For example, if a user wanted to allow DivX Connected to access a certain streaming service, they could download and install a related ZPI plug-in on their PC. Then, the user would be able to access the streaming service from any DivX Connected device connected to their PC.

NOTE: DivX Connected plug-ins may also be saved as CPI files, which are typically packaged with other plug-in-related files.

How do I open a ZPI file?

On a computer that has DivX Connected Server installed, you can open and install a ZPI file (DivX Connected Plug-in) by double-clicking it. DivX Connected Server will then install the plug-in your ZPI file contains. You can also manually install your plug-in by placing it in DivX Connected Server's framework/plug-ins directory.
