What is a RAF file?
An RAF file is a digital photograph captured by select Fuji digital cameras, such as the high-end FinePix models. It contains an image in the uncompressed RAW Fujifilm (RAF) format. RAF files may also include a .JPG version of the same image within the file for thumbnail preview purposes.
RAF is a camera raw image format proprietary to Fuji digital cameras. Other proprietary camera raw formats include .CR3, which is used by select Canon digital cameras, .ARW (Sony digital cameras), and .NEF (Nikon digital cameras).
Professional photographers and camera hobbyists that utilize Fuji cameras are the most common users of the RAF format. When transferring files from their camera they view or edit the files with an image editor and typically send them to print or incorporate them into digital artwork.
