Software Overview
Microsoft Photos is a photo organizer that allows you to view, edit, and share photos. It also provides a video editor where you can add music and special effects to a video project. The app comes bundled with the Windows operating system.
Photos supports various image and video formats, such as JPEG, PNG, GIF, ICO, RAW, TIFF, MP4, MOV, and WMV. You can import media from folders on your device or a connected device, such as cameras or phones. Once imported into the app, you can organize the media in albums, collections, and folders. You can also edit your photos by adjusting their color and lighting, cropping and rotating them, touching up any blemishes, and applying different effects.
Once you are happy with your photos (or at least somewhat content), you can store your photos in OneDrive (previously SkyDrive). This storage space allows for easy sharing and access from anywhere you go. You can also automatically upload photos and videos from your camera or phone to OneDrive. Photos also enables you to share your photos directly from the app. You can share your photos by posting them online, emailing them to friends and family, or printing them. In addition, the app allows you to use apps from the Microsoft Store to post to social networking and photo-sharing sites, such as Facebook and Flickr.
Summary
Although Microsoft Photos does not offer as advanced features as some other photo organizers, it is plenty helpful for the basic Windows user. The app provides a simple photo organizing interface, helpful photo and video editing tools, and convenient storage space and sharing options. Overall, if you are a Windows user that wants a simple but helpful photo organizer, you should try Microsoft Photos.
