Motorola Solutions Radio Codeplug

A CPG file may also be a codeplug file used by a Motorola Solutions two-way radio. It contains channel settings and other data used to program a radio. CPG files are radio-specific, and they are edited using Motorola Solutions' customer programming software (CPS).
More Information
Motorola Solutions two-way radio users who want to adjust the frequencies their radio operates upon can do so by loading and editing the radio's CPG file in a CPS program. For example, a user with access to the MOTOTRBO CPS can connect their radio to their computer and use MOTOTRBO to READ and edit their radio's CPG file.
A radio's CPG file also contains other information specific to that radio. For example, the CPG file lists the radio's serial number and FLASHcode features. Because a radio's CPG file contains so much essential data, and editing the file incorrectly can cause your radio to malfunction, it is recommended that you save a backup of your radio's original CPG file before editing it. That way, you can re-install your radio's original CPG file if needed.
The following Motorola Solutions two-way radios are known to use CPG format codeplugs.
- HT750
- HT1250
- MTX9250
How to open a CPG file
You can open and edit a CPG file in Motorola Solutions MOTOTRBO CPS (Windows), which must be purchased from Motorola. After purchasing and installing MOTOTRBO, open the program, select Open from its toolbar, and then navigate to and open your CPG file.
