A WVE file is a video project created by the Windows version of Wondershare Filmora, a program used for making personal videos. It supports audio and video tracks as well as text, effects, transitions, and sound effects. WVE files allow projects to be saved and resumed at a later time.

While the Windows version of Filmora saves projects as WSVE files, the Mac version of Filmora saves projects as .WSVE files. However, Wondershare replaced WVE and WSVE files with the .WFP project format when it released Filmora9 in December 2018. Filmora9 and later versions still support the WVE and WSVE file types.
You can export WVE projects to various video formats, including .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, .FLV, and .MP4. You can automatically format the video for YouTube or various mobile devices.
WVE projects save references to video and music files, but not the files themselves. Therefore, to transfer a project, you must also copy the referenced files.

WaveEditor projects are often used for exporting modified audio for use in PowerDirector video projects (.PDS files). WVE files can be exported to .WAV, .WMA, .MP3, and .M4A files.
注: WaveEditor was included with some older versions of PowerDirector (not versions 10 or 11) and Media Suite. However, CyberLink no longer offers Media Suite.

You will most likely only encounter a WVE file if you have installed a game on your computer that utilizes the TQI format. Some games that utilize the TQI format include The Sims, Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup, Superbike 2001, and Beasts and Bumpkins.
The TQI format is based on the TGQ video codec, which is used by Electronic Arts to encode video stored in .TGQ files. These files are used in various Sega Saturn and Windows video games released in the 1990s, such as Need for Speed II and Warcraft II: The Dark Saga.

WVE files are uncommon since they are only used in Electronic Arts video games that were released in the 1990s and 2000s and are no longer developed. While there are few programs that support the format, you can open and convert WVE files to a more common video format with FFmpeg. Then, you can open the converted file with a media player, such as Microsoft Windows Media Player (Windows) or VLC media player (multiplatform).
