Pixelmator Classic is an image-editing app for macOS. It can draw, edit photos, paint, apply effects, and export and share images. Pixelmator Team no longer actively develops the software in favor of Pixelmator Pro, a more advanced version of Classic.
The image editor supports various popular image-editing file formats, such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, PSD, and PDF. It features layer-based image editing and comes with more than 40 tools for selecting, drawing, typing, cropping, measuring, and retouching. In addition, you can choose from over 100 different effects to apply to your images and tweak the color of your images with 15 color correction tools. The image editor also integrates with macOS, allowing quick access to your computer's photos and the ability to share images via Message, Mail, Twitter, and Facebook.
Pixelmator Classic is a nice image editor with features that will make casual users happy but leave professional users wanting more. The product works as a toned-down version of Adobe Photoshop but with much less of a learning curve and asking price. If you can spend the money, Pixelmator Classic is a solid image editor for its cost, but if you can't swing the price, try GIMP or the web-based Autodesk Pixlr app, which are both free.
