Microsoft Edge is a web browser for Windows 10 devices. It provides familiar browsing features available in Internet Explorer (which it replaced), Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, and introduces some new capabilities as well.

Edge features a home page that consists of a search bar powered by Bing and a customizable news and information feed. It provides a variety of browsing capabilities which include a favorites bar, web history, downloads list, private browsing, developer tools, and the ability to open a page with Internet Explorer. You can also save articles in the Reading List to read at a later time and configure specific webpages to be opened when launching the browser.

The browser boasts several unique features. You can ask Cortana, the Windows virtual assistant, to answer queries or highlight relevant information on a webpage. You can write notes, make highlights, and copy any region of a webpage and share it with others or save it to OneNote, Favorites, or the Reading List. The browser also includes a Reading view, similar to Apple Safari's Reader view, which strips unnecessary content away when you are reading through an article.

All of the new features and improved performance make Edge a substantial upgrade over Internet Explorer. It provides some familiar browsing tools, while adding unique features such as Cortana integration and web notes capabilities. There are some shortcomings to Edge, which includes the inability to sync content between devices. Microsoft Edge is not yet on the same level as Chrome or Firefox, but it is a promising start for Windows 10 users.
