UWAGA: Pro Tools 7-9 use the .PTF format and cannot open PTX files. But, you can convert PTX files to the PTF format with Pro Tools 10 and later in the Save Session Copy dialog. Note that some newer Pro Tools 10 features will be lost if you save to the older format, such as clip gain settings.

E-Transcripts may also use the ".exe" extension, which allows the transcript to be viewed from a self-contained file. However, email filters often stop the delivery of ".exe" files. For this reason, the PTX file format was created as non-executable format to more easily bypass email server filters.
PTX E-Transcripts may be converted back and forth between ".exe" E-Transcripts.
UWAGA: RealLegal, the developers of the PTX format, were acquired by LiveNote and then by Thomson West. Both the West and RealLegal brands are used to advertise and sell similar software applications. The Mac version of RealLegal E-Transcript Viewer is only available for Mac OS Classic, the predecessor to Mac OS X.
