What is an ALX file?
File used by BlackBerry Desktop Software, a program used for synchronizing and managing data for BlackBerry mobile devices; contains XML application description data, including name, ID, description, loader version, vendor, copyright, language, and file set; used for loading applications onto a BlackBerry smartphone.
ALX files may be generated using BlackBerry software or by using a text editor.

File used by ActiveX, a technology used to create interactive Web content within browsers; contains HTML components that are inserted into Web pages; used for typically linked within HTML code using a <PARAM> tag within an <OBJECT> group.

Index utilized by Alpha Five, an IDE for Web application developers; created with .ADB, .ALB, and .ALM files as a database for tables, sets, and other objects that make up the application; contains index data referenced by Alpha Five to find a script, operation, function, setting, etc. that is stored in the data dictionary (which consists of .DDD, .DDM, and .DDX files).
ALX files are saved as part of an overall Alpha Five developer library database. They may be reused in other Alpha Five applications. To attach a library to a database, select the "Libraries" tab within the "Database Properties" window.
NOTE: In 2013, Alpha Five became Alpha Anywhere.
[Name of your database].alx - When a database is created, the ALX file will be created with the same name as your database.
