Software Overview

EditRocket is a software development tool primarily used as a source code and text editor. It is available for Windows, OS X, and Linux.

The source code editor supports over 20 programming languages including Groovy, SQL, HTML, CSS, C++, JavaScript, and PHP. It features code builders to look up programming language API and library information and code inserts to quickly insert common programming language constructs. EditRocket supports auto code completion for a variety of languages including Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, and HTML.

EditRocket also features web development tools such as a HTML tag and CSS style builder, tag navigators, and integration with local web servers. It works as an FTP and SFTP client allowing you to browse, upload, download, rename, and delete files and directories.

EditRocket is a an editor used by web developers. Some of its capabilities includes a built-in file system browser, code validators, and a FTP/SFTP client. Richardson EditRocket is one of the more complete source editors available but also requires purchase. So if you need a free source code editor look to Notepad++ or TextWrangler instead.
