RIX SoftWorks released multiple versions of ColoRIX throughout the 1980s and 90s. ColoRIX saved the digital paintings that users created in a variety of formats, depending on the app's version and screen mode. Other ColoRIX image formats include the .SCG, .SCI, and .RIX formats.

You can open an SCP file with XnViewMP, to view, edit, and convert the image the file contains. To do so, open XnViewMP, and then use the app's file browser to navigate to and open your SCP file.

Using XnViewMP, you can convert SCP files to the following image formats (as well as many others):

• .JPG - JPEG Image
• .PNG - Portable Network Graphic
• .BMP - Bitmap Image
• .GIF - Graphical Interchange Format
• .TIFF - Tagged Image File Format
