.EXP Estensione file

An EXP file is an embroidery CAM (computer aided manufacturing) file saved in the Melco EXP format. It contains codes that tell the needle of a commercial sewing machine how to create an embroidery. EXP files may also be saved in the Bernina USB EXP format, which is used for embroideries made by personal sewing machines.

Bernina USB EXP files only store the design of the embroidery. They do not contain thread colors and will use the default thread colors of the program used to open the files.

NOTA: EXP files are most commonly used by the 830, 780, and 580 Bernina machines. But they may also be used by the 630 and 340 Bernina machines.

Data file exported by a variety of different program; typically saved in a more standard format than the program's proprietary file type so the file can be opened and read by other programs; often exported by selecting "File→Export" within the program.

Some programs that export EXP files include Intuit QuickBooks and IBM iSeries software.

An EXP file contains surveillance video created by DX Series digital video recorders (DVR), such as DX4100 or 4800. It stores video with MPEG-4 compression and metadata, such as the time and date of recording, camera number, video format, and recording mode.

DX Series DVRs come with inputs for security cameras. These cameras capture the surveillance video, which is then stored in EXP files by the DVRs. The EXP files can then be played using DX Series Export Viewer.

Stores configuration information and custom settings for a SonicWALL firewall; may be exported and loaded by another system to transfer firewall settings; named "sonicwall.exp" by default, but can be renamed.
