What is a KS file?
File used for creating images of Linux-based operating systems such as Red Hat, CentOS, and Tizen; contains a series of instructions that are used for automatic, unattended construction of an operating system (OS) image that can be used for running the OS.
Kickstart files are used by MIC (Moblin Image Creator, now obsolete) and MIC2 (MeeGo Image Creator) for building images.

Security file used for a variety of verification purposes; stores cryptographic keys and certificates that are referenced to prove authenticity; password protected.
The main uses for KS files are encrypting SSLs or for identifying an author of an Android app when publishing or creating an update.
