File created by StarCraft, a real-time strategy game where players create bases and control units in outer space; contains a recording of all events during a single player or multi-player map encounter; used to review and share gaming experiences.

REP files do not contain actual video data. They only contain action and sequence data that can be replayed in StarCraft. REP files are located in the Starcraft\​Maps\​Replay directory. They may be played back in StarCraft.

Replay file created by X-Plane, a professional flight simulator; contains a recording of a previous flight, which includes the aircraft and flight circumstances such as the weather and aircraft controls.

The REP file is used by X-Plane to review your flight. It does not contain video data, rather it contains frame data that can be replayed in X-Plane.

To create a REP file, select File → Save Replay and to load a REP file, select File → Load Replay.

You can open REP files with dBASE in Windows. For example, you can open a REP file by selecting File → Open.

Since REP files store information in plain text, you can also open them with a text editor, such as Microsoft Notepad (Windows) or Apple TextEdit (Mac). You may need to rename the .rep file extension to .txt for the text editor to recognize it.

When opened in a text editor, you can modify the properties of the custom report. However, it will not appear the same as if you open it with dBASE. Also, incorrectly editing the file will corrupt the report.

A REP file is a replay file created by NullpoMino, an open-source falling-block puzzle game inspired by Tetris. It stores recorded gameplay data from a completed session, including player inputs, game settings, and timing information. Instead of saving a video of the match, the replay file records the actions taken during the game so the software can recreate the session exactly as the user played it.

You can open REP files with NullpoMino. To open a REP file with NullpoMino, select Replay from the main menu.
