A BHX file contains a plain text or hexadecimal representation of a binary file, created by the BinHex encoding system. BHX files were most often used to transfer binary files (such as images, multimedia, and documents) as text-based email attachments. You can extract the binary file a BHX file describes with Apple Archive Utility or ESTsoft ALZip.

BinHex was an encoding system and app available for Classic Mac OS. It allowed users to convert binary files into hexadecimal or plain text files, from which the original binary file could be reconstructed.
Most often, the hexadecimal or plain text files that BinHex created were saved with the .HQX, .HEX, or .hcx extensions. However, some BinHex files were saved as BHX files.

You can use Corel WinZip, The Unarchiver, Apple Archive Utility or ESTsoft ALZip to reconstruct the binary file a BHX file describes. To do so, decompress the file as you would any compressed archive.
注: In some cases, you may have to rename your BHX file to use the .hqx extension before you can open it.
