An AD_PRT file is a part file used by Alibre Design Professional and Alibre Design Expert, which are 3D CAD programs. It contains a part that users can import into Alibre Design and add to an assembly. AD_PRT files can be exported from Alibre Design as .STEP files, for use in other CAD programs.

Alibre Design Professional and Design Expert are Windows programs that allow engineers to design mechanical assemblies, such as engines, motors, HVAC systems, and turbines. To create assemblies, engineers combine various parts, which represent mechanical or sheet metal components.
Engineers can design parts themselves using Alibre Design's part design tools or import parts from outside the program. These parts are saved as AD_PRT files.
注: Alibre Design also allows users to import parts saved in the STEP, .STP, .IGS, .PAR, .SLDPRT, and .IPT formats, among others. When a user saves one of these parts, they can choose to convert it to the AD_PRT format. Users must convert some imported parts to the AD_PRT format before they can include them in assemblies.

You can open an AD_PRT file in Alibre Design (Windows). To add an AD_PRT file to an assembly, select the Part/Subassembly button located in Alibre Design's Assembly toolbar. This will open the Insert Part/Subassembly window, from which you can select and insert your AD_PRT file.
How do I create an AD_PRT file?
If you want to create a new Alibre Design part, click the New Part button located in Alibre Design's Assembly toolbar. This will open Alibre Design's part design tools.
How do I export an AD_PRT file as a STEP file?
To export an AD_PRT file as a STEP file, open the file in Alibre Design's part designer. Then, select Save as... and save the file as a STEP file. This will allow you to use the part in other CAD programs.
