What is a QB2015 file?
A QB2015 file is a data file created by QuickBooks for Mac 2015, a financial management application. It contains financial data for a company, which includes employee profiles, payroll information, and customer data. QB2015 files can be used to generate tax forms, invoices, financial reports, and more.
More Information
If your computer crashes or files become corrupt you can restore your QB2015 company file. When QuickBooks backs up your data, it creates a .DMG file that includes a copy of your QB2015 file and Attached Documents Library folder. To restore your QB2015 company file from a backup:
- Go to your backed-up disk image and double-click the icon in order to mount it.
- Drag the QB2015 file wherever you want it located. Put the Attached Documents Library folder in the same location as the QB2015 file as well.
- Open your company file, select QuickBooks → Preferences and choose Attachments.
NOTE: Previous versions of QuickBooks for Mac use the extensions .QB2014, .QB2013, .QB2012, etc. These files are referred to as legacy files in the QuickBooks 2015 release.
