What is an HPS file?

Game script used by HPL, a Frictional Games game engine that is used for first-person horror games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Penumbra: Black Plague; saved in a plain text format and contains functions that define events that occur in a game map, such as doors slamming, scream sounds, or other horror events.

NOTE: HPS files can be edited by users to create custom storylines for HPL and HPL2 games.
