What is an FLX file?
An FLX file is a CAD drawing created with FelixCAD, a discontinued computer-aided design and drafting program. It contains vector-based drawing data used to create technical drawings, such as plans, diagrams, and other designs. FLX files can store the geometric information and other drawing data FelixCAD needs to display and edit a design.
More Information
Users create FLX files with FelixCAD when producing technical drawings for architectural, engineering, manufacturing, and other design-related projects. The files are primarily associated with FelixCAD and may be encountered in older CAD projects created with the software.
NOTE: Since FelixCAD is no longer developed, FLX files have become uncommon.

An FLX file may also be an animation saved in a variation of the FLIC format. It may have been created by Mathematica Tempra Pro or Autodesk 3ds Max. While both programs can save animations in the FLX format, FLX files produced by each app are slightly different.
More Information
FLX files are a variant of .FLC files. All FLX files use up to 32,768 RGB colors and RLE compression. Instead of storing complete information for each frame, FLX files store only the information that changes between frames, to reduce file size.
How to open an FLX file
You can open an FLX file with Corel VideoStudio (Windows), Apple QuickTime Player (Mac), or XAnim (Linux). You may have to change the file's extension to .flc before you can open it.
