.FLW File Extension

A FLW file is a cable test project created by Fluke Networks LinkWare PC, a Windows application used to manage results from network cable testers. It stores test results collected from compatible Fluke Networks equipment, allowing users to organize measurements from copper and fiber cabling installations in a single project. Depending on the tester and type of certification performed, an FLW file may contain cable IDs, pass/fail results, measured values, test limits, and other information recorded during a job.

You can open FLW files with Fluke Networks LinkWare PC on Windows. Select File → Open in the application to open the file, which allows you to review, organize, merge, or report on the stored cable test results.

Fluke Networks LinkWare PC can convert FLW files to .PDF or .XML files. To convert the FLW files, select File → Export to XML or PDF.

An FLW file contains a flow chart created by Kivio, an open source Linux program used to create flow charts and other types of diagrams. It stores data organized into interconnected objects that outline a process, such as instructions for creating a document or fixing a machine. FLW files are saved in XML format.

FLW files can only be opened by Kivio, which is included with KOffice. When KOffice development ceased in 2010, Kivio was merged into Calligra Flow, which is part of the Calligra Suite. Unfortunately, support for FLW files was dropped when Kivio was integrated into Calligra Flow.
