What is a FAP file?
A FAP file is an audio file saved in the Ensoniq PARIS audio format (PAF). It contains audio recorded by Ensoniq PARIS, a digital audio workstation (DAW) that was released in 1998 but is now discontinued. FAP files are more commonly saved as .PAF files.
While PARIS is now discontinued, the software and the PAF format continue to be used by audio enthusiasts. The PAF format is the native format used by PARIS to save audio projects.
The DAW allows users to save their audio projects as PAF files by default, or as .WAV or .SD2 audio files. While the PAF format is primarily saved in audio files with the .paf extension, the format may also be saved in files with the .fap extension.
How to open a FAP file
You can open FAP files with VLC media player in Windows, macOS, and Linux. Or you can upload your FAP files to an online conversion application and convert them to a more common format. Some online conversion applications include OnlineConvert FAP to WAV and Convertio Online FAP Converter.
