What is a AIT file?
An AIT file is a drawing template created by Adobe Illustrator, a vector graphics drawing program. It contains the default content, settings, images, and layout for a drawing. AIT files are primarily used to create multiple .AI drawing files with the same styles and formatting.
More Information
AIT templates are helpful for designing print materials, webpage & mobile mockups, logos, film & video graphics, and other digital art that you want to duplicate. You can also share templates with other Illustrator users working on the same or similar artwork as you.
To create an AIT template with Illustrator, select File → Save as Template... with an AI file open. Or, you can select File → New from Template..., modify the template, then select File → Save.
You can also download templates from Adobe Stock directly via Illustrator by selecting File → New..., choosing a template, and clicking Download.
NOTE: AIT templates packaged with Illustrator are located in the Templates folder in the software installation directory.
How to open a AIT file
You can open an AIT file with Adobe Illustrator in Windows and macOS. To open an AIT template select File → Open... or double-click the AIT file if Illustrator is installed on your computer.
