What is an AFTEMPLATE file?
An AFTEMPLATE file is a template created by Serif Affinity Photo, Serif Affinity Publisher, and Serif Affinity Designer applications. It stores a document, which may include one or more pages or artboards, layers, images, text, shapes, strokes, and other elements. Affinity users create AFTEMPLATE files to store documents with content and settings they want to replicate in other Affinity documents.
Affinity Photo, Affinity Publisher, and Affinity Designer are vector and raster graphic applications similar to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator. When you are creating a new document, such as an .AFPHOTO, .AFPUB, or .AFDESIGN file, you can start with a template to save you time.
The applications come with AFTEMPLATE files, but you can also create custom templates. To create an AFTEMPLATE file with Serif Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, or Affinity Publisher, select File → Export as Template.
