A TZ file is a machine learning model used by Topaz Labs AI applications. It contains algorithms used to automatically enhance photos or videos. Each Topaz AI application comes with several TZ files.

Machine learning models are programs that have been trained to recognize certain patterns and perform actions based on those patterns. For example, image recognition models are trained to identify and categorize different types of images, and image enhancement models are trained to recognize and automatically correct defects in images.

Topaz Labs publishes several applications that use machine learning models to enhance images and videos. These applications include Photo AI, Video AI, DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI. The machine learning models these apps use are saved as TZ files. For the most part, users will never have to manually access or open these TZ files, unless they are required to adjust a Topaz AI application's machine learning model-related settings.

TZ files are not meant to be opened. If you are encountering errors related to TZ files, Topaz Labs recommends that you delete the files and redownload the associated models.
