An MWS file is a configuration file used in the IBM MWave DSP audio system to define synthesized instrument settings. It stores data that the MWave synthesizer references to generate or control digital audio instruments, including parameters that affect sound production.

You can open MWS files with any text editor, including Microsoft Notepad, Apple TextEdit, or gedit. However, opening MWS files with a text editor will not appear the same as opening them with the discontinued IBM MWave DSP audio system.
