Software Overview
Propellerhead ReCycle is a tool used to create and edit sampled loops. It can be used to slice sounds, tweak them, and save them in the industry standard REX format for use by other samplers and sequencers.
ReCycle can find any transients in sampled material and be used to slice your loop. You can still play your loop back at any tempo as ReCycle keeps any timing information. The tool also comes with a variety of built-in effects, such as Transient Shaper, Envelope, and EQ, to tweak your sound.
The program allows you to save your loops in the REX format, which has become an industry standard with use by audio programs such as Ableton Live, Steinberg Cubase, Apple Logic Pro, and Image-Line FL Studio. The REX format enables you to arrange, rearrange, and alter the timing of your loops. You can also use the loops as a groove template for your song.
ReCycle is used by musicians and producers working with loop-based music. It does not come with any recording features or composition environment but is great for use with almost any rhythmic audio such as drum patterns, bass lines, and vocal phrases. Propellerhead ReCycle may be simple, but is a great tool for importing audio, splicing it, and saving it in the REX format to be used in other applications that support the format.
