Microsoft Word for Android is an app used to create and edit Word documents. It is designed as a complement to the Word desktop version for Android phones and tablets.

The word processor supports the industry standard DOCX and DOC formats. The interface appears similar to the desktop version and gives you many of the same formatting capabilities of the desktop version which ensures that your document will appear the same regardless of the device you use to edit. The app allows you to insert text, images, tables, shapes, equations, and charts into your document. You can also choose from a variety of templates to help you save time when working on-the-go.

Word for Android allows you to access and share your documents through email, OneDrive, Google Drive, SharePoint, and Dropbox. If you get tired of working on a document on your Android device, you can continue work on your computer as any edits made to your document are reflected across all your devices through OneDrive syncing.

Word for Android is mainly used by Word users who have an Office 365 subscription, which is required to create and edit documents. You can still view documents without a subscription but much of the functionality is withheld. As long as you have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft Word for Android is a must-have for editing Word documents on-the go.
