Apple iMovie is a video editing application for macOS and iOS devices. It is bundled with all Macs and is available to download for free from the App Store on iPhones and iPads.
iMovie simplifies the process of creating a movie, from navigating your library of video files to publishing and sharing your finished project. It enables you to add videos, images, audio, titles, and backgrounds by dragging and dropping them onto the project timeline. You can also apply filters to your clips and adjust the color balance, audio, and speed of the video.
The video editor allows you to edit the same project across your macOS and iOS devices. So you can begin editing your project on your iPhone, then finish it on your Mac. When you are finished editing your project, you can export it as an .MP4 file, share it on social media or via email, and publish it on YouTube or Vimeo.
Apple iMovie is a great tool for simple video editing on Macs and iOS devices. If you are a Windows user you can find similar functionality with Windows Movie Maker. And if you are looking to do more advanced video editing, you should instead use a more robust editor, such as Apple Final Cut Pro, MAGIX Vegas, or Adobe Premiere Pro.
