The Gerber format, which Ucamco develops, is an industry-standard for PCB production, ensuring that manufacturers can interpret and reproduce designs accurately. PCB design files use the .gbx and .gbr (.GBR) extensions, but GBR files are more common.
Engineers and manufacturers generate GBX and GBR files with PCB design software to inspect, modify, and verify PCB designs before production. They then transfer them to CAM software, which reads them to guide the manufacturing process.
