Wat is een SOURCE-bestand?
A SOURCE file is a source code file that contains text written in one or more programming languages. Typically, developers create SOURCE files to store backups of source code files by duplicating the files and renaming the file extensions to .source. Developers may also rename source code files with the .src file extension, creating .SRC files.

The primary reason programmers create SOURCE files is to preserve their code. For example, a C++ developer may worry about their .C files becoming corrupt when they compile the files into machine language. Therefore, the programmer duplicates and renames their C files as SOURCE files to store in a backup folder before compiling them.
