An AXP file is a movie project created by Corel Pinnacle Studio, a video-editing application. It contains video project settings, including video timeline information and references to media and other data files in the project. Pinnacle Studio users save projects as AXP files to preserve editing progress and then export them to video formats, such as .MP4, .MOV, and .M4V to share.

Pinnacle Studio is a consumer-level app for Windows that allows you to edit videos, such as home movies and slideshows. It is designed for amateur users but comes with various professional capabilities, such as masks and color correction tools.
The AXP file format is the default format for saving movie projects. However, Pinnacle Studio users may also save projects as Studio Project Package (AXX) files or Stop Motion Project (AXPS) files.
