A CZIP file is an archive encrypted in the proprietary CryptoZip (CZIP) format by ZipGenius, a free archive manager for Windows. It stores one or more Zip-compressed files encrypted with the CZIP, Blowfish 128-bit, Twofish, or Rijndael 128-bit methods and may be password-protected. ZipGenius users compress archives as CZIP files to share data with others securely.

The CZIP format supports various options for compressing archives, including Standard, Self-locking, and Self-erasing types. Furthermore, you can only extract self-locking and self-erasing archives with the correct passphrase (three incorrect passwords renders the file unrecoverable).
