Project Mirage is intended for users who need to encrypt sensitive files, such as documents, multimedia files, and backups, locally rather than upload them to an online encryption service. It provides a standalone Rust command-line program for encrypting and decrypting files. Users can create a WRAITH file from a file such as a .PDF and later restore the original file by providing the password.
The Mirage-C4 v2 system combines four encryption layers and uses password-based key derivation to generate encryption keys. The project also supports integrity verification, file-size obfuscation, expiration timestamps, and hardware-based decryption restrictions.
