A WIF file is a pattern file saved in the Weaving Interchange Format (WIF) and used by WeaveIt software. It contains a draft pattern of a weave which consists of cells that can be used to mark positions and fill with color.

WeaveIt programs allows you to design drafts of weaves. They use the WIF format to save and load patterns. The format allows you to easily share patterns across different computers and iOS mobile devices using different WeaveIt programs to open the format.
