- DLG-F files (modern standard) use a binary format, which is more compact and efficient for processing but not easily readable without specialized GIS software.

You can open DLG files with various Safe Software FME Desktop, ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop, and TatukGIS Viewer in Windows.
