A SQUIDNOTE file is a note created by Steadfast Innovation Squid, an app for taking notes and marking up .PDF documents. It contains all of the information that makes up a note, which may include pen strokes, shapes, highlights, images, and text. SQUIDNOTE files also store note settings, including the note background (e.g., college ruled, graph grid) and size.

Squid is an app for Android and Chromebook devices that aims to replace real-life notes by providing a digital canvas for creating reminders, to-do lists, and other notes. When a user creates a note, the app automatically saves it in the SQUIDNOTE format. However, a user can also choose to export it to a common document or image format for easier sharing.
