Game saved from the original Max Payne first-person shooter (FPS) game; stores game progress so that gameplay can be resumed from the point when the game was saved; typically named "savegame000.mps," "savegame001.mps," "savegame002.mps," etc.

Max Payne was originally developed for Windows PCs and was later ported to the Mac by MacSoft. Max Payne 2 saved games use the .MP2S file extension.

An MPS file is a map used by Microsoft Pocket Streets, a mapping application primarily designed for Pocket PC devices in the early 2000s. It contains geographical data, such as streets, landmarks, and points of interest, for a specific area, such as a city or region, that users can view with the Pocket Streets application.

Pocket Streets allowed users to view detailed maps and navigate areas such as cities, states, and points of interest on their portable devices. Travelers, business professionals, and anyone needing offline maps for their mobile devices for navigation on the go commonly used the program.

NOTA: Pocket Streets was part of the Microsoft Streets & Trips suite, but as smartphones and modern mapping applications like Google Maps gained popularity, Microsoft eventually discontinued Pocket Streets in favor of more advanced, web-based navigation tools.

You can open MPS files with Microsoft MapPoint in Windows. However, the software is discontinued.
