A PC file is a saved game created by PC Simulator, an Android game where players build virtual computers by purchasing and assembling components. You can open PC files with PC Simulator (Android). To load a PC file with PC Simulator, first place the file in the Android/​data/​com.Yiming.PC/​files/​saves directory. Then, open PC Simulator, select Start, tap Load Game, select Import, and choose the PC file you want to open.

Other programs can also modify PC files, including PC Simulator Save Editor, PC Simulator Save Editor 2, and PCSim Save Editor.

A PC file is a metadata file used by pkg-config, a helper tool used when compiling applications and libraries. It contains information about a code library, such as the library's name, description, URL, version, and dependencies. PC files are also referred to as pkg-config files.

You can open and edit a PC file in any text editor, such as Microsoft Notepad (Windows), Apple TextEdit (Mac), or GitHub Atom (cross-platform).

To use a PC file with pkg-config (cross-platform) reference the file as part of the pkg-config command. For example, you could use the command pkg-config --modversion FileInfo to retrieve version information stored in FileInfo.pc.
