A DTP file is a data file created by JetBrains dotTrace, a profiling program used to gather and analyze performance information about .NET and .NET Core applications. It contains a profile snapshot, which includes performance or concurrency data collected by dotTrace and is used to analyze the performance of an application.

To open a DTP file in dotTrace, select Open Snapshot in the Home window and navigate to the DTP file you would like to open.
DTP files may contain various diagnostic data depending on how the profile was customized by the user. Here are the two most common types of profiles:
- Performance Profile - The evaluation of the overall performance.
- Timeline Profile - The evaluation of various types of performances, especially the performances where the order of events is important.
