.WP5 File Extension

WordPerfect, now known as Corel WordPerfect, was initially released in 1979 for Data General minicomputers. In 1989, WordPerfect Corporation released version 5.1 of WordPerfect for DOS. This popular version of WordPerfect includes pull-down menus, the ability to generate print previews, and the ability to embed tables in documents.

By default, WordPerfect 5.x saves users' documents as WP5 files. WordPerfect 5.1+ can also save documents in the WP6 format.

You can open a WP5 file with Corel WordPerfect (Windows). Current versions of WordPerfect still support the WP5 format. You can also open WP5 files with LibreOffice (multiplatform).

You can use Corel WordPerfect (Windows) or LibreOffice (multiplatform) to convert WP5 files to other formats. Because WordPerfect is the primary program that creates and uses WP5 files, it will give you the best results. WordPerfect can convert WP5 files to many formats, including:
