What is a WP3 file?
A WP3 file is a project created by Microsoft Photo Story, a discontinued program that made digital slideshows from photos. It contains pictures and information about effects, captions, audio, and playback settings, allowing users to combine personal photos into a narrated slideshow. WP3 files save project data and associated media in the Microsoft Cabinet archive format. Microsoft no longer develops Photo Story.
More Information
Home users and educators primarily used WP3 files to create digital photo stories on Windows computers. Users imported photos into Photo Story, arranged them into a sequence, and added motion effects, transitions, captions, and audio. They could then export their projects to more widely supported formats that standard media players could play.
How to open a WP3 file
You can open WP3 files with Microsoft Photo Story. However, the software is discontinued. If you do not have access to Photo Story, you can also open WP3 files with Plaug Studios Slideback in a web browser.
