What is a WLM file?
A WLM file is a raster image created by Paralelo Computação CompW, an image compression program. It contains an image that has been compressed using wavelet compression. WLM files can be embedded in OLE-compliant documents, but can be viewed in those documents only if you have CompW installed.
CompW is a suite of applications that allows users to compress images using wavelet compression, view those images online, and embed them in documents. Paralelo Computação is defunct, so CompW is discontinued and WLM files are uncommon.
How to open a WLM file
You can open a WLM file with XnViewMP (multiplatform). To do so, select File → Open..., then navigate to and open your WLM file.
How to convert a WLM file
You can use Logipole Konvertor (Windows) or XnViewMP (multiplatform) to convert WLM files to other image formats. For example, XnViewMP can convert WLM files to the following formats (and many others):
