What is an STIP file?
Preset instrument created by SampleTank, a sound sample creation program; contains user presets for different "Parent Sound" sound samples; based on a SampleTank Instrument unit, which consists of an .STH, .STI, and .STW file, and must remain in the same folder as these three files; opened through the application, not manually.
To create a STIP file, edit your sound in the application, click SAVE in the User Preset area, name your sound, click OK, the "Parent Sound" will now be located in the "BROWSER" area with a black triangle next to it, the created STIP file name will appear under the "Parent Sound" when you click on the triangle, and the STIP file will be located in the folder of its "Parent Sound."
You can also rename or delete any of your User Preset STIP files by selecting the RENAME or DELETE buttons in the User Preset area.
