What is an SFAP0 file?
An SFAP0 file is a temporary audio file automatically created and deleted by MAGIX Sound Forge Pro and VEGAS Pro applications. The software creates the SFAP0 file when a user is working on an .FRG or .VEG project and references the data it contains as an intermediate file to help stream audio data to the application more smoothly.
MAGIX offers Sound Forge Pro, an audio waveform editor, and VEGAS Pro, a video editor. Each app allows you to choose the setting preferences for SFAP0 files.
For example, you can adjust how Sound Forge Pro handles SFAP0 files via the software's preference settings (Options → Preferences). You can perform various functions in this window, including hiding new SFAP0 files by selecting the Hide new temporary files checkbox.
NOTE: Sonic Foundry initially developed Sound Forge Pro until Sony acquired it in 2003. Then, MAGIX acquired Sound Forge Pro in 2016.
