What is a PPA file?
A PPA file is an add-in file used by Microsoft PowerPoint, a program that allows users to create presentations. It contains custom commands and macros written in the VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) language and is used to extend the capabilities of Microsoft PowerPoint.
Examples of add-ins include timeline creators, tools that insert professional images, presentation to HTML56 converters, and slide to eLearning content converters. PowerPoint add-ins for PowerPoint 2013 to 365 should be located in the following directories, by default:
C:\Users\[user name]\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Addins\
How do I open a PPA file?
You can open PPA files with Microsoft PowerPoint in Windows and macOS. To open a PPA file with PowerPoint 365, select File → Open → Browse, then choose "PowerPoint Add-ins (*.ppam;*.ppa)" from the format dropdown menu.
To manage your add-ins in PowerPoint 365, select File → Options → Add-ins.
