What is a NEBO file?
A NEBO file is a note created by the note-taking apps MyScript Notes and MyScript Nebo. It contains handwritten notes, typed text, drawings, diagrams, and other editable elements from notebooks, documents, boards, and annotated .PDF documents.

Students, professionals, and other users who take notes with a digital pen or stylus with MyScript Notes and Nebo are most likely to encounter NEBO files. The apps use handwriting recognition and interactive ink technology to recognize handwriting, convert it to typed text, and maintain handwritten strokes and other note content.
NOTE: Users can create NEBO files when exporting notes from the app by selecting the three-dot kebab menu in the upper-right and selecting Export and choosing the MyScript Notes format.
How to open a NEBO file
You can open NEBO files with MyScript Notes on iOS and Android or with Nebo on Windows. To open a NEBO file in MyScript Notes, select the three-dot kebab menu in the upper-right and choose Import. Nebo uses the same note format and maintains compatibility across these platforms; on iOS and Android, the app was renamed from "Nebo" to "MyScript Notes" in September 2025, while the Windows version retains the "Nebo" name.
