What is a JTF file?
A JTF file is an image saved in the JPEG Tagged Interchange Format (JTF), which is based on the TIFF format and uses JPEG compression to reduce the size of the image data. JTF files may also contain JPEG-related tags, including EXIF information and other metadata supported by the format.
More Information
JTF files are raster images, meaning they store pictures as a grid of pixels. The format combines TIFF's tagged file structure with JPEG-compressed image data, allowing an image and related information to be stored in the same file.
NOTE: JTF files are uncommon today and are most likely to be encountered as older image files or in collections of files created by software that supported the format.
How to open a JTF file
You can open JTF files with ACD Systems ACDSee Photo Studio and Corel PHOTO-PAINT (included with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite). Other image-viewing and editing programs that support TIFF or JPEG images can't typically open JTF files, as well, but you may have to change the .jtf file extension to .jpg or .tif for the programs to recognize them.
