What is a JTEX file?
A JTEX file is a texture used by a Nintendo WiiU or 3DS video game. It contains a "skin" that is applied to an in-game character, item, or location. JTEX files are most notably used in Wii Fit U, Dragon Ball Fusions, and One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X.
More Information
Some WiiU and 3DS video games use the .JARC archive format to store game assets. JARC archives contain in-game model, texture, and animation files. Together, these files are used to show and animate game characters, locations, and items.
JTEX files are in-game texture files, which contain an image or images that are layered atop an in-game model (.JMDL file) to "skin" it. For example, the files used to add color, textures, shadows, and depth to One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X's characters are saved as JTEX files.
How to open a JTEX file
While player-created extraction and import utilities exist for some specific JTEX files, most JTEX files cannot be opened outside the game they are used in.
